Inside the 2021 P.U.R.E. Festival: A Celebration of Community and Cause
On April 3, 2021, the Cane Bay Family YMCA in Summerville became a hub of creativity and connection as the P.U.R.E. Festival—Peace, Unity & Revival through Entertainment—brought the community together for a day rooted in purpose. Created by Zandrina Dunning of The ZD Experience, the festival blended live entertainment with a powerful message of unity and hope.
Attendees of all ages gathered to enjoy music, performances, and shared moments that encouraged togetherness and positive expression. The atmosphere was energetic yet intentional, creating space not only for entertainment but for meaningful engagement and reflection.

Beyond the stage, the heart of the P.U.R.E. Festival was its commitment to service. Proceeds from the event benefited the Charleston Walk for Autism organization, supporting awareness and resources for individuals and families within the autism community. By aligning creativity with advocacy, the festival highlighted the impact entertainment can have when used as a force for good.
As the event came to a close, the lasting impression was one of connection and renewal—an example of how community-driven experiences can inspire change, foster understanding, and bring people together through shared purpose.
